Its silhouette has changed over the years, but the Little Black Dress will forever be a key fashion staple in a woman’s wardrobe. The L.B.D. is simple yet classic and has proven to stand the test of time with it’s versatility and sophistication. Nate & I had “dressed up” date night on Saturday and I wanted to wear something simple, yet special so I turned to this Little Black Dress, but if I tell you it was purchased a little over 8 years ago, would you believe me?

I purchased this dress on sale at Bloomingdales in 2004 and it’s amazing that from time to time when I don’t know what to wear, I can always count on it. This poor little dress has seriously been through a lot and I almost threw it away a few times (not to mentioned it almost got shipped to Vietnam and was left in my garage for months), but I’m glad it always find its way back to me! I guess it’s just meant to be. I don’t think I can say that about many of the colorful dresses in my wardrobe… I think every woman should have a perfect go-to black dress in her closet. Since the Little Black Dress can sometimes be bland, look for one with details such as an interesting neckline, unique sleeves or pretty embellishments or texture. You can also add color with accessories or makeup like red lips. :)
