Simple, effortless, flirty…and even though the little slip dress was my summer staple, I’m taking this trend with me into fall. The beauty of a slip dress is her versatility. She’s a simple yet sexy little number that subtly says, “I’m feminine” without being being over the top. Reminiscent of a slinky piece of lingerie, the slip dress may be too “out there” for some, but with the right styling and accessories, you can take the bedroom out of the slip dress and make it completely wearable for day or night. Not to mention there are about 80 ways ways to style this look with items that are already in your closet. One of my favorite look is layering the slip dress with an over-sized cardigan, sometimes a scarf if it’s chilly, usually with a hat and strappy heels. :)

Sunnyside Gal

Mother nature loves to screw with my emotions because one day it’s insanely hot then the next it’s so windy that I can’t even mind my own business without getting slapped by my hair. Well, to maintain a little predictability, I wore (my hair up and) my neon lime top yesterday as I’m guaranteed to bring a load of sunshine (literally) wherever I went. I paired this top with my new favorite trumpet skirt and added gold accessories for an evening out with good company.

I purchased these Valentinos studded lace pumps a long time ago but to me, they’ll never get old. These pumps are like a tough armour plating in the form of spiky pyramid-shaped studs, providing just enough metal for a rock-chic edge, contrasting with the delicate, romantic, and feminine soft black lace overlay. It’s the perfect combination of naughty and nice and if I could describe myself as a pair of shoes, these are definitely the one. Rharr! ;)

I have always been a huge fan of Valentinos and their ultra-feminine, classy and sophisticated styles. One of my favorite place to shop for all things Valentino is at Harrods. In addition, I also love the selections of DvF and Michael Kors. Check it out when you have a chance.

Pink Blueberry

Blazers has always been a wardrobe essential. With the right fit, a good blazer can instantly dress up jeans, skirts, the LBDs, shorts and even leggings. Although a basic black blazer is simply one of the most versatile item and can go with virtually everything…a  cheerfully bright blazer can do the same and can bring instant glam into your wardrobe.

Top: H&M white tank / Truth & Pride Angel Hem pink blazer (similar for less) | Bottom: Urban Outfitters Kimchi lacey blue shorts | Shoes:  Alexander Wang Isabeli leopard sandals (old) | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff Swing Black Shoulder Bag | Accessories: Bracelets – Kate Spade, Forever 21, Ring – BCBGeneration heart ring | Sunglasses: Christian Dior

Don’t be fool by the bright pink color of this blazer. With the right outfit you can take this from playtime to business hours….but as you can see I’m all about playtime these days, so mixing this vibrant structured blazer with blue floral shorts and adding a splash of leopard completed the fun summertime vibe I was going for. Hey, living in the Bay Area, the weather is quite unpredictable (not to mention bi-polar) so I need to take full advantage of all the summertime outfits while I can :)

In addition to pink, here are my summer’s favorite hues for blazers. Would you wear any of these and if so, which is your favorite?

Zara yellow blazer, J. Crew green blazer,

Topshop coral ponte boyfriend blazer, ASOS purple peplum blazer $58

Thanks for stopping by the blog loves! TGIF and have a wonderful weekend! xo

Neon Glow

Just when I thought neon hues can’t get any brighter, I saw this Sparkle and Fade pleated skirt glowing from the little corner at Urban Outfitters. It also comes in tangerine and blue which are also very pretty (and a lot brighter in person than it’s displayed online).

My 5 sad little macaroons were left after I divulged the other half of the box

Top: Bar III white sweater (similar-ish here)
Bottom: Urban Outfitters “Sparkle and Fade” neon pleated mini skirt
Purse: Milly Kelsey satchel
Shoes: Colin Stuart ankle strap sandals
Accessories: Bracelets – Spikes from eBay, Bar III neon bangles.

I was going for a casual laid back look so I paired this fun skirt with an over-sized comfy sweater from Bar III, but I kind of fail in the casual department when I threw on my favorite pair of nude heels…Although I love a cute pair of comfy flats, I just can’t seem to resist the call of high heels. Even though they can be very painful, it’s something about them that makes me feel so feminine, confident, and sexy. It also doesn’t hurt to add a few more inches to my height!

Ladies, are you addicted to heels and how does it make you feel when you wear them?

Bracelets:  Kate Spade, spikes from Ebay / Necklace: (removed from a dress) (similar here and here )

By now, I think it’s safe to say that I’m highly addicted to the electric hues from the hot neon trend this spring and this top from Urban Outfitters is the perfect new addition to my flamboyant collection! This top was so bright in person that it was reflecting on my skin. As a matter of fact there were all sorts of strange neon glares in the photos and my wonderful photographer believed that the top was the caused behind those glares (see pic 6). I on the other hand thought they were ghost glares but let’s hope I’m wrong… :/

I wore a strapless corset bra to eliminate distractions of the open back details and paired the top with a ruffled skirt for a fun girlie look. For a dinner party that evening, I traded in girlie ruffles for sparkling sequins (see below).

When I first started my blog back in December 2011, I used to do a lot of versatile outfits using one “main” item. I thought it’s time to bring that back, this time nicknaming it “My Fab4.” My Fab4 will consist of 4 photos of how I’ll pair a particular item in 4 different ways: Night, Day, Work and Casual. Unless I’m head over heels in love with a piece, I always try to buy things that can be mixed and match with a variety of other things…4 outfits are better than 1!

Hope you like & love to hear your thoughts! xo
