Luxurious fabric, check! Sexy open back, check! Classy hemline, check! Pretty earth tones, double checks! This dress is everything I adore in a little flare dress with an eye catching print in deep, rich earth tones.  Can you believe this is from H&M? I wore this dress over the weekend to one of my best friend’s baby shower and no one believed it was from H&M.  Not to say that there’s anything wrong with H&M, but the Trend Dept has been killin’ it in the style game lately. Good job style team, keep ’em coming because I love everything even though you’re totally robbing my wallet.

P.S. my favorite H&M in the SF Bay Area is the Powell Street in SF and the Santana Row in San Jose. Although the Powell store frequently carries more Trend styles, I prefer San Jose because parking in SJ doesn’t make me homicidal. :) Have you all had a lovely weekend!

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a good print, but this summer, it’s not stripes, polka dots or leopard that has me swooning, it’s fruit prints! Ok, I’m totally bullsh*ting because I love all of those prints above, but there’s something so much sweeter about fruit prints that can add a fun squeeze of whimsy zest to any basic look! So you see, fruits are not just for eating but they are also great for wearing as well! :)

Here are some of my favorites! What do you think about fruit prints?

Mixing prints and colors has been my favorite thing for years but lately I’m kind of drawn to the match-matchy sets. When I spotted this Hinge two of a kind skirt & blazer a while back, I thought how 80’s and felt it was too matronly to pair the two.

Well, fashion has a way of playing tricks on me because I came across this set again, tried it on, accessorized it and I had an immediate change of heart. The matchy faux-pas was thrown out the window and I found my new love for matching prints and colors. Since I’m still standing in shallow water, I didn’t want to go overboard from head to toe so I paired this set with a white top and neutral shoes to offset the prints (I still refuse to wear matching shoes/belt/purse). I love how fashion can reintroduced an idea that was once considered bad taste and made it work, because wearing this doesn’t make me feel matronly at all… I felt fearless, fun, and young!

What do you think about the matchy-matchy trend?

Dear Leopard,

wildchild2One of my favorite purchases from my recent trip to NY were these Schutz Shoes. I love the edgy yet feminine lace-up details and the neutral camel color goes well with practically everything. If you’re looking to purchase this, they run a bit small. I went one size up but the good thing is the lace can be adjusted for a better fit. This also comes in black and a new style, the Arieli comes with studs.

Dear Leopard,

There are some out there who has a deep repugnance for you. Some even judge you and say you are distasteful and tacky. To me, you are classic like the little black dress but better because you can spice up any outfit. You have charisma and spunk. I love pairing you with so many things such as 1) denim for a casual daytime look, 2) a simple white blouse for a conservative yet sexy vibe, 3) a hint of color to liven things up and 4) mixing prints for a bold and daring look! You are stylish, eye-catchng, yet versatile and timeless. Best of all, you have always been there for me when I have doubts and need a pick-me-up. That’s why I’ll always pick you over that b*itch L.B.D.

Love Always, K
