Some say that maxi dresses can overwhelm a short frame ( 5 feet 1/2″ to be precise) but I say it can elongate legs and make you seem ethereal. I also love maxi dresses because they are the perfect solution to looking glam and not even having to shave my legs….They can be dressed down with cute flats for those easy breezy days or glammed up with heels and accessories for fancy pool parties, dinner dates or just a night out.

Btw – Many thanks to everyone for the positive feedback on the launch of my online boutique KTRcollection! I really appreciate all of your kind words & support and I want to say thank you again for coming along with me on this journey. xo

Whenever I wear maxi skirts I feel so effortlessly feminine. I love the ethereal vibe of these long skirts, especially the ones that are lightweight and has an easy, breezy flow. However, what I love most are the endless styling options! Maxi skirts can be paired with crop tops (my favorite of course), chambrays, knits, blouses, tees, leather/denim jackets or blazers, you name it! Best of all, sandals, boots and flats all looks great with maxis. What can I say, it’s just a universal item that goes well with everything. :)

Below are a few of my past maxi looks. It’s obviously I love maxis. Which one is your favorite?

The side-panel pants, once known as the tuxedo pants and typically reserved for menswear are the new “IT” pants for the ladies this season. With the clever positioning of a single vertical stripe, wearing these pants gives out the illusion of long legs.

What I particular love about these side panel pants is that it makes the decision to wear black or white pants so much easier. Not to mention the classic combination of black and white is forever a classic. This look is chic, effortless, can be dressed up with a blouse/blazer or worn casually with a tee or a sweatshirt. I went for the comfy sweatshirt look.

Ladies, what are your thoughts on these side panel pants?

It’s only February but the days are getting longer, it’s even slightly warmer now and this pretty little pink dress gives me hope that my favorite time of year is drawing near. I have a undeniable affection for spring just as much as I love the color pink. It’s the pinnacle of femininity and this dress is just that. When worn, the bright color lifted my spirit while the shade of pink made me feel beautiful. The cut and shape gave me the freedom to move with ease and comfort and I loved the warm breeze against my open back.

Pink is not only a color, but it is a feeling and an attitude… Did you know that if you want to convey an open heart, pink is the color to do it? :)

Nate and I spent last weekend in Carmel to unwind, check out some local shops, did a little wine tasting, dine at some of our favorite restaurants when he first moved out here from New York and we even tried to take a walk on the beach. Yeah, the latter was bad idea. It was very cold! Even though the sun was gorgeously shining, the temperature was nowhere near warm and I can feel the chilly breeze furiously blowing against my leggings. Luckily I was layered on top with a thermal tee, a chambray top and knit wool sweater that kept me pretty cozy for most of the day…

This weekend we’ll be staying in Vegas for business but I’m very excited to check out the shops and eat my heart out at all of our favorite restaurants. We typically like to stay on the strip but if you’re ever going on a busy weekend and want to stay in Vegas on a budget, two of my favorite off the strip hotels (but very close by) are the Orleans Casino Hotel and the Platinum Hotel & Suites which is a gorgeous boutique hotel with suites from 950 to 2,200 sq feet for a fraction of the price compared to most hotels on the strip.

I hope whatever you decide to do this weekend, you’re spending it with someone you love. Have a warm and wonderful long weekend!
