I was roaming Nordstrom’s New Savvy dept sometime last week and came across this cute little blue leather jacket. As any Nordie-a-holic would know, the Savvy dept was re-vamped with the new trendy pieces that are so reasonable in prices. Some of my favorite New Savvy brands include: ASTR, Topshop, Wayf, ASTR, and MINKPINK. They all offer unique pieces under $100. This jacket is from BLANKNYC and definitely a new favorite! Hope you had a fantastic week and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend!

This skirt was my first H&M online purchase since the brand made their clothing available online and I must say I’m a happy camper! I’m usually a little hesitant about crochet because sometimes they can be quite stiff, but this particular material stretches quite nice and comes with a thick stretchy waist band…Shipping took almost two weeks but who doesn’t love the luxury of sitting on their couch in the comfort of their home and still be able to shop!? The only thing is, things on their site sells out pretty quickly so if you ever see anything you like, be sure to snag it before it’s gone!

Nate and I spent most of Saturday in the city (SF), first taking photos of a lovely couple by the Bay Bridge, than off to do some shopping in Union Square. Since it was a bit breezy and there was a lot of walking, I kept myself pretty cozy with this faux fur vest and stayed comfortable with low heel boots. Plus walking our two new furry friends (200 lbs English Mastiffs) required some serious traction on your feet. Transitioning into evening was quite easy with my favorite B Brian Atwood mesh booties, which can completely transform an outfit from comfy & cozy to chic & sexy. Oh, and of course I had to sneak a few photos in there somewhere in between. :)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Just like a friend of mine mentioned, “the infamous green sequin ‘hot’ shorts has turned into a classy & elegant skirt!”

I made this skirt for NYE but of course the impulsive Arian in me just can’t help myself and had to wear it now. When I was working on this piece, I realized two things: i) it’s an absolute pain in the ass to work with sequins and ii) luckily the exquisite outcome outweighed the bad …and just like life, sometimes the most beautiful thing stemmed from a less than thrilled experience.

Working with sequin fabric can be a challenge because it does require a lot of extra leg work to get the final result you’ll be pleased with. It’s important that all the sequins lay perfectly in one direction and sometimes sewing over the sequins can create lumpy and unattractive seams. Though my machine can handle even a rock, I was just too paranoid to mess up this extremely-hard-to-find-fabric. Therefore most of the work (about 80%) was done by hand. I think it was more time consuming and then my OCD really kicked in during the production when I realized that my house has been taken over with these little green spots… On my bed, in my shoes, under the dinner room table, on my behind when I got up in the morning, in my tub and I even saw a little green guy in the hallway at my  work (how did you get there mister?!).

Anyway, I love the outcome and I hope you love it too! I’m ready for NYE and can’t wait to style it with a different top. How would you style this?
