One of the things that I love about NY is the fact that there are as many bodegas as there are photo ops conveniently located at every corner. Whether it is an alley way, next to a dirty glass door, against random brick walls, a dumpster, or even in front of 99 cent City, everything just looks a little bit cooler…

I wasn’t going anywhere important on this sunny and warm day , just down the street and around the corner to my favorite Caribbean fast food joint, Golden Crust (actually that was important). I wanted to test out these booties to see how comfortable they are before I actually wear them out at night. The verdict? Umm, not so comfortable after say 45 minutes, but they are so freakin’ sexy it’s worth it. Sorry feet.

Just as quickly as my love blossomed for the “extreme” high low trend last year, the appeal faded out faster than I can spelled a-s-y-m-m-e-t-r-i-c-a-l… But somehow, this look always seem to find a way back into my life. I can’t deny, the look is so feminine, flirty, a bit edgy/sexy and effortless all meshed up together in one little ball. This Siho dress is the perfect summer to fall transition for me and I love how comfortable it is. I wore it lounging around the house and for outdoor, I paired it with my favorite booties, a denim jacket to give it some shape and emerald T&J Designs earrings for a pop of color! xo

Rumor has it that full skirts are in full swing this season; being the new skirt silhouette for fall and the trendiest thing on the runway….for me, knee length skirts are always in style regardless of the season. They are feminine, classy and tastefully seductive. I’m just madly in love with full skirts. Typically I like to pair them with a form fitting (crop) top but today I was in the mood to go for a bold leopard print which I feel is the perfect compliment against this green skirt.

Speaking of which, this is a new addition to the the KTR clan. You can now Pre Order her and get 20% off until September 21st! Please use Code FULLFEVER20 at checkout.

I used to be a bit wary about wearing midi skirts because I was told it will make me look stumpy but in the last several years I can’t get enough of them.

Tip: Make sure your skirt is high-waisted and paired with heels.

I think mid-length skirts are universally flattering that instantly evoke a retro vibe and a stylish element that can be classy, funky, or dramatic. Don’t get me wrong, I love showing my legs with the mini, but there’s a quiet sex appeal with the mid length that’s so much more alluring when less skin is shown.I know it’s a style that’s not for all. I’m curious what you think about the midi and why you prefer not to wear it..?

Pleated Love Affair

I’m a huge fan of statement pieces (especially with beautiful semi precious stones) so it was naturally love at first sight when I laid eyes on EselviDesigns handmade jewelry by Shainery Vargas. Most of Shainery’s designs are bold and vibrant with a feminine touch of delicate wiring details that makes each piece unique and one of a kind.

I recalled mid last year my girl Sabby of RougeSpark and I searched high and low for the perfect black leather skirt. We seriously went on a mission (no joke) and even ordered numerous skirts online, only  resulting in returns because we refused to pay $500 for this Alice + Olivia skirt which we really loved. All we wanted was a nice quality little leather (or faux) skirt that’s affordable, but for some reason, it was nearly impossible at that time (pleated leather skirt recession I’m guessing).

Well you know what they say…when you can’t find something, just make it. Ok, I’m not sure if anyone actually said that but it sure gave me that extra push. I have to warn ya, the fabric was stubborn to work with especially through the sewing machine, but if you’re patient, you can get exactly what you want for under $25, it’s your labor of love and you can save the money to buy more shoes! :)
