No Ordinary Love (+ PFC #18)
No matter how exciting colors can be for the time being, the simplicity and comforting timeless elegance of black & white will always have a special place in my heart.

This month’s Petite Fashion Challenge (PFC #18) is hosted by Amber of Easy Petite Looks. The challenge is to put together a memorable outfit that will impress your date…
When it comes to impressing the date, wearing something that makes me feel pretty + confident is key. Although the outfit will depend on the venue and activity, I prefer something that’ll show skin (gotta lure him in somehow right?) but still maintain some mystery. Trust me, even after approx 300+ dates with the same man, there’s still plenty of room for mystery :)
Whether it is a movie, a dinner, or skinny dipping in our neighbor’s pool (j/k), Nate and I make sure we make time to go on a date at least once a week…typically I don’t dress for the opposite sex because I like to wear what makes me feel comfortable (and let’s be real, most men can’t tell the difference between a pencil, peplum or tulip), but dressing to impress Nate has always been fun because he’s very attentive.
Last night I decided to put on a sweet white dress with contrasting black and cut out details for dinner at a local fave, the Sundance Steakhouse. The dress was elegant and timeless with a dash of sex appeal sewn in. I had the yummy grilled salmon while he dined on his usual medium rare filet.
For those who doesn’t know, PFC is a Fashion Challenge hosted by a different style blogger each month… You don’t need a blog to paticipate, just send a message to the future host for instructions prior to the scheduled date. You can also stop by Alterations Needed Forum to see past challenges and check out upcoming ones!
P.S. I’ll be hosting the challenge in October so I hope to see you there! xo
And just for fun… :)

Gorgeous dress! Love that cut out :) (And I REALLY love a great black & white outfit – so timeless!) xo
I totally agree with you on the classical Black & White being the best choice at all time =)
Btw, your last picture is so cute! =D As a couple, going out for a date once a week is a must. At least the effort to ask each other out for a date is necessary.
You look absolutely gorgeous!!!
This dress is amazing on you ;)

That dress is so pretty and beautiful. Love the side cuts.
Love the last pic too. So fun and lovely!
Oh my! What a gorgeous dress. I love the cut out, and I love how you described it for the date. Sexy, yet still leaves something to the imagination because of the length. I do love the classic black and white as much as I’m loving colors right now, too. It’ll always be classy! Love the CLs, and the images are gorgeous as always! :)
i love your dress! i had to look it up for a future date night, but… one size only??
Yes! That’s what I said, it totally runs big on me and I had to do last minute alterations to make it fit in the waist. I think the waist is about 33 inches but I’ll need to measure it again.
It definitely an impressing number, I love this cut out dress, it fits you well and looks so pretty. -:) Happy weekend.
You look so pretty! Love that you dress up for your boo. The shot at the end was especially cute :)
KT, I love how you pay attention to every detail in each of your posts. The hair, makeup, outfit, the location! They all complement one another and comes together brilliantly. Oh yeah, can’t forget Nate’s photography skills – big props to him!
I love your new dress! It’s gorgeous on you! xx Pip

I find myself being seduced by colour every once in a while, but I always come back to black and white in the end. This ensemble is just stunning – if I were your date, I would be seriously impressed ;) But since I’m me, I’m lusting after your gorgeous Louboutins!

I LOVE cut-out dresses! Sexy through the hint of suggestion! This monochrome girl definitely approves, haha. ;) By the way, I love how sweet and romantic these photos look–the b&w makes a sharp contrast against the soft colors of the flowers. Oh, also your post blurbs never fail to make me chuckle, so keep it up! :)
