Marilyn Monroe sure knows what she was talking about when she said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world,” ’cause I sure feel powerful when I can finally reach for a cup in the kitchen cabinets, the microwave that’s conveniently located on top of the fridge, the cereal box on a high shelf somewhere and other randomness without having to look for a stool. Thank you high heels, what would life be like without you?
(Valentino Rockmance Leather Pumps)
Aren’t these babies lovely? After trying them on and realizing they weren’t my size, my WWICHD (want-what-I-can’t-have disorder) kicked in and I went on a crazy rampage in search for them. I’ll try to spare you the details of my nutty frenzy…in short I called every NM in the U.S. frankly because I didn’t trust the system, and as luck would have it one pair finally popped up. It was a very kind person in Hawaii who rather wear flip flops than high heels that decided to pass these up.
So here they are, the last size 5 resting atop a little red box on my bedroom floor that I watched go to bed the first night they came home….Ok, I didn’t really do that but I did pull it out and tried it on about 18 times! Haha, I hope I’m not alone here…Ladies, do you have any funny/crazy shoe stories?
There’s something whimsical and girly about the puffy skirts that always make me feel like a kid again…
Bright colors make me happy…Happy Sunday everyone! xoxo KTR

Pick colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel for a more harmonious look (i.e. blue & purple or aqua & blue). If you’re feeling a little adventurous, try bolder collaborations, like pink & yellow, or lime green & teal. Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to try out some unconventional color combos. Sometimes you just might be surprised at which colors work well together!

Marilyn Monroe sure knows what she was talking about when she said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” However, when there are so many shoes…in abundant of shapes, styles and colors – how does a girl know which to choose? I believe there are at least 5 shoe essentials that every girl needs in her closet to be ready for any occasion.
